Job Description:

• Planning, monitoring and managing workflows by delegating queues to team members, approving high risk/value transactions and supervision of functions to ensure completion with timeliness and accuracy
• Managing escalations internally/externally to mitigate Operational, Reputational, Regulatory & Financial risk
• Risk manage confirmations and settlements for FX transactions
• Pro-actively work with external clients and other dealers to resolve economic discrepancies on FX
• Actively partner with internal teams, including Sales & Trading, Credit, Technology and other operations teams to ensure timely confirmation and settlement
• Accurate and timely settlement of FX trades and cashflows with adherence to the internal payment policy and procedures
• Maintain accurate and clean post settlement workflows, including breaks and failed trades
• Design and initiate process improvements with thorough understanding of the teams' processes and controls
• Resolution and escalation of all client disputes and queries
• Project and initiative management and participation within the team and across regions
• Coaching and guidance for team members by providing regular feedback, planning & scheduling training requirements
• Identify gaps in processing and make recommendations to close those gaps
• Establish relationships with internal partners, brokers, clients, custodians and vendors to streamline workflows wherever possible
• Maintain department procedures and provide regular management reporting to Operations senior management and the business

QUALIFICATIONS

• University or college degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science or related discipline
• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in capital markets, preferably within Operations or related field.
• In-depth knowledge of FX products, including Spot/Forwards, Swaps, Non-Deliverable Forwards and OTC FX Options.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); technical proficiency in Excel is a must, including VBA (able to understand macros) and SQL (can write simple queries)
• Working knowledge of programming tools, such as Alteryx, Python and UiPath is a definite asset.
• Ability to work independently as the senior or lead and coach or guide team effectively

• Sound understanding of risk management
• Ability to deal with multiple complex issues at the same time while meeting client deadlines

• Experience with Murex is a definite asset
• Working knowledge of Bloomberg, FXall, Finastra and TradeNexus is also a definite asset
