General Description of Job
Purpose of Job

The Surveillance Supervisor supervises the day to day operations of the surveillance room. She/he will also take on the responsibility of a Surveillance Operator who monitors the premises using electronic surveillance equipment and reports suspicious activities in compliance with the company's policies and procedures, internal control procedures and New Brunswick Lotteries and Gaming Corporation Casino Surveillance Standards Policies and Procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

    •Maintain a valid Gaming Control Registration •Reports to the Surveillance Director •Supervise the day to day operations of the surveillance room •Completes routine surveillance of the gaming floor identifying potential problems, such as poor game protection, suspicious individuals, and acting as a support unit to other departments in relation to the protection of company assets •Strictly adhere to the compliance of all departmental, NBLGC and Gaming Control Branch policies and procedures. •Maintains accurate logs of all procedure violations or completing reviews of all material that is pertinent to site operations. •Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees, Gaming Control Branch personnel and NBGLC personnel. •Provide evidence in legal matters that have resulted from criminal charges against patrons or employees. •Maintain awareness of gaming operation at all times and comply with security policies and procedures in order to secure company assets. •Additional duties, which are consistent with the position summary, may be assigned. •Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) , regulations, and internal health and safety policies and procedures.

Secondary Responsibilities

    •Shall be certified by the Surveillance Certification Program developed or selected by the Service Provider and approved by both the Registrar and the NBLGC; •Direct and control surveillance operations during the shift in the absence of the Surveillance Director; and •Report directly to the Surveillance Director.

Working Conditions

    •Sitting and attention to details for long periods of time •Ability to see things that others may not see •Ability to multi-task in a fast pace ever changing environment •Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays) •Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position, and/or obtain and maintain an NBLGC license registration •Must have employment eligibility in Canada •Must be 19 years of age or older

Knowledge and Skills Required

    •High school diploma or equivalent working experience •Previous table games, security, or surveillance experience preferred •Knowledge of surveillance equipment and methods of cheating are an asset •Strong communications skills to verbalize incidents and daily happenings in the department, along with strong reading and writing skills for reporting purposes. •Concentration and manual dexterity required to operate equipment. •Knowledge of all operating departments policies and procedures required, including live games, slots, poker, cash/slot cage and count room. •Aptitude for accuracy and detail in their work. •Shift work required as well as an ability to sit for long periods of time.
