Slot Technician
Purpose of Job

The Slot Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all slot machines and related equipment according to the service provider and NBLGC policies and procedures. Adhere with the NB public Safety, Casino NB, provincial, federal and other applicable municipal laws and regulations. Comply with safety and security standards of Casino NB while orientating staff to operations and comply with pre-determined internal control procedures. Assist in maintaining good public relations with guests and maintain an open door policy with all employees.

Primary Responsibilities

    •Maintain a valid Gaming Control Registration •Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Slot machines and gaming equipment. •Responsible to ensure that all applicable Internal Control Standard Manual policies and procedures pertaining to Slot machines are strictly adhered to. •Perform Jackpot inspections as outlined by the Internal Control Standards Manual by verifying the Slot machine has not been tampered with. •Responsible to convert and move Slot machines as required. •Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons and Casino NB employees. •Maintain general awareness of gaming operations at all times, complying with security policies and procedures in order to secure corporate assets. •Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identifying unsafe practices and conditions. •Additional or different responsibilities or duties, which are consistent with the position summary, may be assigned at the discretion of the position's supervisor/manager. •Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) , regulations, and internal health and safety policies and procedures

Secondary Responsibilities

    •Reports to the Slot Technician Supervisor; •Undertakes all repair and maintenance functions on Electronic and Slot Games, electronic table equipment (including automatic shufflers, signage); •Is familiar with design, repair and maintenance standards for all Electronic and Slot Games on site; •Logs all access to Electronic and Slot Games as well as descriptions of all modifications, repairs and upgrades.

Working Conditions

    •May be required to stand, sit, or bend for extended periods of time. •Must be available to work a rotating shift •Must be able to handle a fast pace working environment •Ability to deal with all levels of staff members and guests courteously and with patience •Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays) •Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position, and/or obtain and maintain an NBLGC license registration •Must have employment eligibility in Canada •Must be 19 years of age or older

Knowledge and Skills Required

    •Requires College or University diploma or comparable combination of equivalent working experience and education with a background in electronics •Requires experience in the related field of 1 or more years. •Possess strong troubleshooting, communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and managerial skills. •Requires knowledge of computer software packages and the ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment. •Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
