We are looking for an experienced Public Relations Specialist to share and protect our Client' corporate image in ways that promote their business, values, and mission. You'll be responsible for growing and maintaining media relations through promotional activities.

A successful Public Relations Specialist will impress our Client with their copywriting and presentation skills. We'll be on the lookout for experience in corporate communications and established relationships with the Atlantic Canada media.

The goal is to maintain positive public awareness of the company and its brand, while growing awareness across media channels.


  • Develop communications plans for both earned and paid media
  • Enhance the companies voice and presence through online and offline channels
  • Write press releases, speeches, and serve as Spokesperson for the company
  • Manage media relations and organize community outreach events
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to ensure activities are aligned
  • Facilitate the resolution of disputes with the public or external vendors and present solutions in times of crisis'
  • Continuous research of cannabis industry, regulations, products, and consumption
  • Stay informed of industry, regulatory, and media developments
  • Prepare reports for management on media and campaign success
  • Perform other related duties as required and requested by the Executive Team

  • Requirements

  • Completion of a 2 year post-secondary diploma in Marketing, Communications, or another related field
  • 5+ years of proven public relations experience in either public or private sectors
  • Fluent in both English and French
  • Established relationships with the Atlantic Canada media
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Well organized with the ability to work independently and as part of the team
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing, and pleasant personality
  • Fully proficient in all Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Prior knowledge about the cannabis or another highly regulated industry (such as tobacco or alcohol) is a plus
  • Social media skills are a plus
