Purpose of Job
Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. Bartenders are beverage service attendants who mix and pour alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests in our bars, lounges, casino and restaurants, and at licensed events. Bartenders may serve the drinks they make, or they may give them to a food and beverage server, who serves them to the customers. The bartender may or may not actually collect payments from customers. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Pre-shift meetings, wash and sterilize glassware, assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies, prepare garnishes for drinks, replenish snacks and appetizers, and maintain alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage controls.

Bar-Back maintain stock levels and ensure the bars have all required product/stock necessary to serve the guests. They pick up glasses throughout the Casino facility and assist with stock in other bars located throughout the complex. Bar stewards must be personable and able to communicate clearly. They should be able to work in a team and work efficiently under pressure. Other duties include, but are not limited to: serving beverages -- from soft drinks to beer, wine and spirits. They must be able to make drinks quickly and accurately without wastage (when required) and may also collect payment from the customer and use the cash register; occasionally a bar steward might also serve food to customers eating at the bar.
Working Conditions
    •Physical mobility and stamina is required (must be able to lift 25 kg) •Handle repetitive physical motions for long periods of time •Maintain health (i.e. wash hands regularly to prevent spread of germs) •Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle -To conduct our jobs with concern for the environment and its resources. Whenever practical and possible, reduce use of items, re-use whenever possible and recycle those items that can be. •Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position, and/or obtain and maintain an NBLGC license registration •Must have employment eligibility in Canada •Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays) •Must be 19 years of age or older •A secondary school diploma is preferred. Courses in bartending an asset. •Courses Super Host, Responsible Beverage Service and Food Safe is a definite asset •Professional appearance and attitude required •Ability to follow instructions & work independently is required •Good organizational and time management skills is required •Detail orientation is required •Proven customer service skills and experience required •Server experience required •Cash handling experience •Time Management skills •Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations •Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) knowledge is an asset •Wine knowledge an asset •Knowledge of the products, facility, and sector
