HUB Implementation Project Specialist

As a member of the Wireline Access Engineering team, you will be responsible for the planning/execution and on time delivery of projects in NB. These activities include the launch, enhancement or turndown of any services carried on the access and core network.

Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Facilitate the installation and commissioning of equipment and services in the wireline and wireless network environments within the required time, budget and quality parameters
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work according to company priorities
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the various stakeholders
  • Manage the contracted workforce to ensure accountability and project quality /track any deficiencies until resolved
  • Manage labour and material assignment to ensure project costs are contained within budget
  • Ensure that proper documentation for services, equipment, and facilities are created, submitted
  • Ensure all work is done in accordance with established procedures/guidelines
  • Understand and adhere to change control policies and procedures
  • Ensure all work activities are captured inthe latest project tracking systemfor reporting purposes
  • Plan, schedule and report on work activities using Rogers planning and reporting platforms
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure on-time project delivery
  • Coordinate with multiple departments and external suppliers to ensure on-time project delivery
  • Support and assist local Equipment Engineering, Specialist and Planning roles
  • Actively participate in your personal development and the continual improvement of processes/procedures related to Network Implementation
  • Actively participate on cross-functional teams as required
  • Travel to sites across Newfoundland as required
  • Be aware and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy

  • Practical Head End experience
  • College diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related field is required.
  • Knowledge of electric systems and components
  • Experience in transport and core networks architecture with a strong understanding of installation and theoretical operation
  • Sound IP and network architecture knowledge, including setup, is a definite asset.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical/electrical blueprints and single line diagrams
  • Five years of CATV or related network industry experience.
  • Strong computer skills in MS-Office, VISIO, and Outlook, and sound knowledge of digital, RF and Video technology are considered a definite asset for this role.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Remedy, & Spatialnet software.
  • Valid driver's license.
