Job Description Summary
RESL Pricing is one of the most powerful management levers available to steer the long-term profitability of the Canadian Personal Bank. Reporting to the Senior Group Product Manager, RESL Pricing, the Product Manager, RESL Pricing Insights and Margin Management w ill be accountable for expanding our insight capabilities and decision making to improve pricing decisions across the mortgage and FlexLine portfolio.

The Product Manager, RESL Pricing and Margin Management will provide pricing insights and build/enhance tools to improve pricing decisions, lead initiatives to improve pricing capabilities and margin, and optimize pricing grid to benefit margin and volume.

The role will also involve partnering closely with data & analytics teams, technology, and platform enablement teams to deliver capabilities for pricing target state and north star vision.

Key accountabilities:
  • Produce weekly and monthly pricing intelligence that inform pricing decisions. Provide insights at channel, client segment and granular rate grid level.
  • Monitor trends such as pipeline conversion, cost of funds, and impacts of price changes.
  • Drive complex initiatives on pricing optimization, channel compensation and align pricing to channel incentives in proprietary and broker channels.
  • Implement pricing optimization models and develop future pricing strategies as technology is enabled. Leverage segmented pricing and price sensitivity models to optimize margin and volume results.
  • Participate in the day-to-day management of the product(s), identifying and implementing product features and enhancements, providing business case support of recommendations, and assisting in the strategic development of new initiatives.
  • Partner closely with data & analytics teams, technology, and platform enablement teams to deliver capabilities for pricing target state and north star vision.
  • Manage the Rate Change and other end-user-computing (EUC) tools.
  • Represent RESL Pricing as a pricing subject matter expert on RESL projects.
  • Provide an additional layer of managerial support for the RESL Pricing Team. The role may require people management activities including mentoring and hiring.
  • Collaborate with various partners in RESL, Finance, Treasury, Analytics, and Technology to achieve business objectives.
  • Assist with other RESL Pricing activities as needed.

Experience & Education:

Core Business Skills

o Problem solving: Structuring problems and driving solutions to aid margin management

o Data Driven Decision Making: Defining success metrics, measuring outcomes

o Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence decision making by translating data and insights into business decision making framework.

o Previous RESL, Product management and/or pricing experience will be preferred.

Core Analytical and Technical Skills

o Experience with working with large data sets (structured/unstructured)

o Using data and insights for storytelling

o Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

o Knowledge of at least one visualization tool (e.g. PowerBI) preferred

o Python/SQL for deeper analytics useful

• Other Factors

o 7+ years of relevant experience in RESL, Product Management, Pricing or similar roles

o MBA and/or prior management consulting background useful
