Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the OccupationalHealth and Safety Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, planning,administration, training and enforcement of facility's safety and healthprogram and all training for new employees for various departments, to ensurecompliance with all company policies and local, provincial and federalregulations. The Occupational H&SSupervisor identifies hazards and assesses risk to health and safety involvingindividuals to identify the appropriate safety controls and providing advice onaccident prevention and occupational health to management and employees. Provides direction, support and training todevelop and implement initiatives and maintain a robust safety program.

  • Knowledgeof NB Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of Health and safety training anddevelopment programs for employees
  • Excellent professionalism and leadershipabilities is required.
  • Ability to train employees in processes of thefacility.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Knowledge andcompliance with GPP, GMP and GLP.
  • Strongorganization skills and attention to detail.


  • Responsibilities:

  • Contributes tothe creation of and/or maintenance of Instructional Documents such as SOP's,work procedures and training documents.
  • Promotesoccupational health and safety awareness throughout assigned facility.
  • Conducts ongoingsafety inspections of facilities, operations and equipment to ensure complianceand safe working environment. Monitorsand enforces applicable provincial safety regulations.
  • Develops andadministers site training plans.
  • Coordinates,develops and/or conducts safety training sessions for management, supervisorsand employees on health and safety practices and legislation including new hireorientations.
  • Implements,maintains and updates internal safety programs and procedures in conjunctionwith company, customer and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Acts as siteliaison related to government inspections concerning safety, environmental orergonomic issues. Facilitates incidentinvestigations, root cause analysis and closure of corrective actions.
  • Analyzes routinejob tasks for hazards and identifies safer ways of working. Assists Human Resources with return ofemployees after accidents or injuries.
  • LeadsBehavior-Based Safety program on-site through regularly scheduled observationsof facility.
  • Administers andmaintains SDS programs
  • Activelyparticipates on assigned teams and/or projects including site Health &Safety Committee and process improvement initiatives.
  • Otherduties as assigned by the Divisional Manage/Human Resources.


  • Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Post-Secondary training in Health and Safety orrelated field OR equivalent experience in a Health & safety position.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health& Safety legislation and industry safety standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communicationskills, as well as presentation skills.
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonalskills.
  • Able to work well with and closely withManagement.
  • Prioritize, work well under time pressure, andfocus on work in midst of noise.
  • Maintain a good, cooperative and respectfulattitude.
  • Comply with safety laws and regulations.
  • Works well independently and in a teamenvironment.
