The Lead Growerwill be responsible for managing a large scale commercial facility andperforming all the tasks in the growing process including the selection anddevelopment of genetic strains and seeds, cloning, potting and transplanting,designing and maintaining nutrient regiments, feeding plants, defoliation,topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, harvesting,drying, packaging, waste disposal and inventory management.

  • Demonstratedexperience in cultivation of marijuana or other delicate commercial crops.
  • Expertknowledge in plant disease and pest mitigation without use of chemicals.

  • Mustfollow Clients' policies and contribute towards the goal of achievingproduction targets within set timelines.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Performand manage all aspects of growing including: selection and development ofgenetic strains and seeds, cloning, potting and transplanting, designing andmaintaining nutrient regiments, feeding plants, defoliation, topping, flushing,foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, harvesting, drying, packaging, waste disposaland inventory management.
  • Maintainexceptional attention to detail to achieve consistently high quality and yield
  • Managea large-scale production facility, including: ensuring cleanliness of facility, managing budget costs, performinggeneral administrative duties, and purchasing materials as needed.
  • Recognizepotential problems and execute correction measures
  • Managedata collection for accuracy and ensure all tracking is compliant withgovernment regulations.
  • Supervisionof inventory to meet the goals of each project
  • Liaisewith Division Manager on timeline for upcoming projects
  • Developand/or maintain growing protocols and nutrient regiment
  • Schedulingof crops
  • Manageplant scheduling and organization to precisely project all garden needs on adaily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Catalogueand analyze each individual strain from clone to flower to harvesting
  • Executivepreventative maintenance and ensure an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programis in place
  • Maintaina clean and organized work environment
  • Adhereto Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for Good Production Practices (GPP)and GMP.
  • Responsiblefor ensuring that medical marijuana is handled in accordance with SOPs
  • Generateand maintain accurate GPP/GMP documents
  • Handleall documents and associated responsibilities as they pertain to the receivingof raw materials, propagation, sowing, growing, drying, harvesting, packaging,storage, picking, destroying, shipping and distribution of the medicalmarijuana.
  • Workclosely with QA in response to the status of medical marijuana (i.e. release,hold, etc.) and on all GPP items as requested by QAP.
  • Helpto ensure that the security measures are maintained
  • Assistin the hiring and training of all production staff
  • Workwith Senior Management to plan and develop future production space
  • Assistgovernment regulators and auditors with inspections and audits of facility,operations, inventory, sales and regulatory compliance
  • Facilitymaintenance and troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Otherduties as assigned by RPIC.
  • Havedeep knowledge of soil/ soil less growing methods, micronutrients, beneficialbacteria, and nutrient implementation.
  • Experience and technical knowledge inproduct moisture level controls during production, curing, and packaging statesof medical marijuana products.
  • Knowledge and compliance with GPP, GMP and GLP.

  • Requirements

  • Diplomaor degree in Biology, Agriculture, Horticulture or equivalent commercialgrowing experience would be preferred.
  • Strongunderstanding of genetics and plant care including a comprehensive knowledge ofstrains.
  • Understandingof biotechnology, molecular biology and genomics preferred.
  • Knowledgeand experience with large scale commercial plant cultivation including nutrientrequirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, air flow, etc.and harvesting/trimming, drying, curing etc.
  • Extensiveexperience in propagation
  • Experiencewith automated environmental control software, programming, determining setpoints and monitoring practices.
  • HealthCanada Security Clearance will be required.
