General Description of Job
Dealer's entertains guests by operating gaming tables by very specific rules. They deal cards and may handle large amounts of money. Other duties include, but are not limited to: operate gambling tables and games such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, etc., controls table in the correct order of play and closing bets at the appropriate time, ensure security of the table and the chip tray and handle cash and payouts.

Working Conditions

    •Ability to work in a fast pace ever changing environment •Ability to deal with many types of situations •Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. •Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays) •Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position, and/or obtain and maintain an NBLGC license registration •Must have employment eligibility in Canada •Must be 19 years of age or older

Knowledge and Skills Required

    •Completed education relevant to the service industry •Specific education relevant to money transactions and games procedures •Computer literacy •Experience as a dealer •Experience in money handling •Experience with customer contact •Thorough knowledge of the NBLGC terms and conditions, approved games and game procedures, and any applicable legislation •Must be accurate and detail oriented •Accustomed to work in a team and independently •Ability to work in a variety of shifts •Excellent communication, negotiating, and conversational skills •Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
