Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Finance, this position is responsible for revenue and banking reconciliations, month-end reporting, preparing journal entries, and the overall supervision and engagement of the Accounting team. The Accounting Supervisor is collaborative, excels at multi-tasking and displays exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Contributes to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Motivates, leads by example and provides a learning environment. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures. Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino New Brunswick's culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
    •Prepares month-end journal entries and reconciliations (pre-paid, revenue and general expenses). •Prepares bank and general ledger account reconciliations, deposits cheques. •Prepares monthly financial reports for government agencies. •Settles all entertainment shows. •Provides supervision and direction to the accounting team. •Delivers performance evaluations for direct reports. •Responds to and resolves inquiries and issues related to audit and accounts payable functions. •Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments. •Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious. •Chooses to make everyday a great day. •Stays focused in order to be there. •Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day

Education and Qualification Requirements:
    Embraces the Casino New Brunswick culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude!
    •Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication. •Minimum seven years of experience in an accounting role. •Minimum of one year of supervisory experience required. •Actively working towards your CPA designation (preferred, but not essential). •Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel a must, (skills will be tested). •Work experience using computerized accounting software. •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. •Strong data entry skills with a keen attention to detail. •Must be able to work under minimal supervision. •Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines effectively. •Must possess excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills. •Excellent organizational skills, an ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. •Adaptability to work both independently and as a team player, with ability to work in an open office environment. •Candidates must be able to work flexible hours as required, mostly at month end periods. •

Work Environment Conditions: Regular office environment, may have non-traditional work hours, schedule flexibility is required

Licensing and Certification Requirements: Permanent employment may be dependent upon the authorization and continued approval of the Provincial/State Regulatory Bodies. New employees may be required to complete an application and, if required, will begin work only after regulatory approval is granted. Existing team members will reapply as necessary, and continuing work will be dependent upon successful reapplication. For positions that require additional certification, the appropriate level of certification will be maintained.
